Our Instruments

Since the BPO began in 2000, the orchestra has acquired a range of orchestral instruments necessary to perform large-scale symphonic repertoire. The below instruments are owned and maintained by the BPO and used by its members in performances.

Ludwig Professional Series Timpani
Acquired in 2006, the set comprises 23", 26", 29" and 32" drums, each with hard transport cases fitted with wheels and ramp.

Amati Contrabassoon
Acquired in 2016, this custom instrument, made especially for BPO, comes with additional keywork. Purchased with the generous assistance of Sax & Woodwind...and Brass, Camperdown NSW.

Lyon & Healy Style 100 Concert Harp
Acquired in 2017 with the generous assistance of Harp Centre Australia, this Lyon & Healy Style 100 Concert Grand model is decorated with a custom soundboard decal and comes with hard transport case.

Adams 'Soloist' Xylophone
Acquired in 2004, the instrument is a 4 octave model and has a protective transport case fitted with wheel and ramp.

Acquired in 2015 with the generous assistance of Schiedmayer GmbH, this 5.5 octave compact model in ebony finish comes with hard transport case with wheels and ramp.
