Auditions
Our next audition day will be held in June 2009. Fill out an audition form now and we will contact you closer to the date.
There is a minimum standard of musicianship which is AMEB grade 7 or equivalent. The audition panel consists of the Musical Director, concertmaster
and section principal. Other section principals are also invited if the
applicant is auditioning for a principal position.
In the audition, prospective members must present
- a piece of their own choice (about 5 minutes duration)
- a few orchestral excerpts sent about two weeks before the audition
- a sight-reading exercise or some scales

Section positions exist throughout all parts of the orchestra.
Rehearsals and Concerts
Players are required to attend weekly rehearsals held on Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 10:00pm at Coorparoo Secondary College Auditorium, cnr Stanley St and Cavendish Rd, Coorparoo. Occasionally, a rehearsal may be scheduled for Sunday afternoon when a performance is close.

Membership of the BPO provides you with a number of benefits:
